Meet Jackie

Rooted in the wild, grounded in community.

It’s hard to encapsulate a whole life into a few paragraphs, but for my personal story, it includes the magnetic pull of Kodiak, Alaska. Which for me, had a unique way of soaking deep into my being. It is the place I return to for comfort, personal growth, and a reminder of how heavily nature impacts our health.

Influenced by Alutiiq values alongside my core pillars of Family, Gratitude, Inclusion, and Health, I have built a life I am deeply proud of. I have an amazing spouse, two incredible kids, and have spent over a decade working as a school psychologist.

But I also know exactly what it feels like to lose your footing.

when survival mode becomes the norm

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother. It was core to who I was. So, I was thrown for a loop when I became a mom and got absolutely rocked by the postpartum experience.

The first few years of motherhood were pure survival. I was living in a reactive cycle, desperately trying to meet the demands of a full-time career while managing my family's needs. I felt drained, short-fused, and unhappy. My foundations of health were entirely off-track; sleep, nutrition, and movement were all lacking.

About a year into my own wellness journey, I stumbled upon health coaching. It completely changed my trajectory, allowing me to be, for the first time ever, deeply intentional about the changes I wanted to make.

filling the gaps in our communities

In the workplace, I have observed how public education faces massive challenges, and how the strain trickles down to everyone involved. Time and time again, I saw dedicated educators burning out, districts stretched to their limits, and families trying their best to navigate it all with obstacles stacked against them. I realized that to truly support our students, we have to support the entire ecosystem around them. Everyone needs to first feel well to show up fully. When we support our educators and caregivers, we are directly protecting and impacting our future generations.
